Dr. Tengku Maryam Fatimah

Dr Tengku Maryam graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from University of Adelaide, Australia in 2013 and completed two years of compulsory government service in Kota Bharu, Kelantan before resigning to join a private dental clinic in Shah Alam, Selangor.

In 2019, she pursued a three-year specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry in Eastman Dental Institute, University College London (UCL) where she graduated with a Doctorate in Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry in 2022 and received the Winter Award for best postgraduate trainee. In the same year, she also received her Membership in Paediatric Dentistry (MPaed Dent) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She served as a Specialty Dentist in Paediatric Dentistry for the National Health Service (NHS) in 2023 in the Eastman Dental Hospital, UCLH, London before returning to Malaysia for good. She is currently a visiting paediatric dental specialist at Maison Dental Specialists.

She is a compassionate and enthusiastic dentist with special interest in management of early childhood caries, treatment under inhalation sedation (happy gas) for anxious children and adults, surgical cases (i.e tongue tie removal, frenectomy, surgical extractions) and working with children with special needs. She also carries out treatment under general anaesthesia for young children with comprehensive dental needs and special needs children.

She believes every child is special and unique in their own way and is passionate about enhancing paediatric dental awareness in the general public in Malaysia. In her free time, she enjoys pilates, travelling, movies and musical theatre.
